Marny Duncan-Cary is a managing partner in Cary’s Trenching & Trucking Ltd. – a family owned business that specializes in sewer & water services. She runs the office and recently received her ticket as a Health & Safety Advisor. Lately, in her pink hardhat and steel toe safety boots, she’s been pulling on her singing talents & performing parodies to promote Cary’s Trenching on social media.
Marny is also a singer / songwriter and an author. In 2004 – yes, that’s a long time ago – Marny released her debut album, Reason for Bein', which garnered four Saskatchewan Country Music Awards and received national critical acclaim. In 2005, she had the honour of singing for Queen Elizabeth during the royal visit to Saskatchewan. Marny’s children’s books, Linger, and Who’s That Man? are extensions of her songs. Who’s That Man? won a silver medal in the Children’s Moon Beam Book Awards in 2010. This book is also on the Saskatchewan Board of Education recommended reading list for Remembrance Day materials.
Marny’s third book, RockStar, also an extension of one of Marny’s songs, is being released this spring and she’s delighted to be able to give you a sneak peek at the April Mixer along with a couple other songs and wine, of course.
Marny is a wife to Trev, a mother to Mae and Josi, a stepmother to Crystal, and a granny to Owen and Zoe.
