What Do I Need to Know About RWN Events?

RWN events largely fall into two categories: regular networking events which happen on a monthly basis, and special events which happen several times a year. Here is what you need to know!

Registration

Pre-registration is required for the early-bird price. The registration deadline is two days prior to an event. Ticket prices increase by $10 for late or non-registered individuals attending the event. Payment is due on event day.

Payment Options

You can register and pay online by logging in and going to the Event Calendar, and registering for the event you wish to attend.
  • Pay Now: pay by credit card online, and a receipt will be emailed to you.
  • By Invoice: members can request to be invoiced for an event and choose to pay the invoice either at the door by cash or cheque, or online prior to the event.

Cancellation Policy

There are no refunds for non-attendance on pre-paid events. If unable to attend, advise Programming by email 2 days prior to an event. A credit may be applied for attendance at future event of same value.  Due to our catering costs, if you have registered and do not email Programming 2 days prior to event of non-attendance, you are requested to honour the invoice issued.

Networking Events

Regular networking activities are what we are about, and participation is your biggest reward. It’s at our regular luncheon and mixers that Network ‘know, like, and trust’ connections begin and grow. Sharing your business card is encouraged, and you will have the opportunity to share any exciting business announcements with your fellow networkers!

The topic is generally determined by the host via a short presentation about what encourages and excites them in business, the challenges they've overcome, or sharing some wisdom they've learned along the way to become successful. Each event concludes with a draw for a door prize and an opportunity to be featured in our bi-monthly newsletter!

Mixers: take place the first Tuesday evening of the month, from 5:30-7:30pm, and are often held at member businesses, providing them with an opportunity to show off their company, its products, or services.

Luncheons: the third Tuesday of the month, from 11:30am–1:00pm

Wondering what to expect at a typical networking event? Check out a sample schedule for a mixer:
5:30 - Registration and general networking begins
6:00 - Networking exercise
6:15 - Program begins, including Board announcements, new member introductions, guest welcome

7:00-7:30 - networking continues

Upcoming Events

Each year when I purchase my new day planner the first task is to mark in the dates and times for the RWN functions for the entire year.  RWN networking and the relationships that I have formed have been a huge part of the success my massage therapy/Bowenwork business. RWN members are loyal to each other and will source within the network first for goods, services or consulting.  The ripple effect of that kind of reciprocation goes on and on as we refer to our families, friends and colleagues.

I have always believed that people do business with those they know, trust and respect and RWN provides a framework of events and functions to meet like-minded, forward thinking women who are willing to share their time and talents.

We all have a story.  We all have something to offer.  Once these relationships are formed and nurtured we realize the value of having had a source to meet each other.  Regina Women's Network has been that source for me and I have never been disappointed when I have taken a new client or friend to an RWN event.  Just as I was 13 years ago, they are welcomed and introduced to other members and very quickly see the value of taking out a membership and becoming part of such a great community of women.
